About the artist
Natasha Baker is an Australian contemporary realist artist with a focus on classical realism and the use of chiaroscuro techniques. Primarily working alla prima in oils, Natasha creates radiant still life oil paintings, alongside delicate, emotive renderings of birds and animals. Deeply influenced by the Old Masters, Natasha’s work is an elegant exploration of light, form, and quiet presence.
Working from her home studio nestled in Western Australia's tranquil Swan Valley, Natasha derives her work directly from nature, observation and stillness. Using meticulous process and attention to detail, each piece reveals a quiet complexity that invites pause and introspection.
With a growing presence in domestic and international collections, Natasha’s work resonates with audiences worldwide, a testament to the enduring power of timeless, classical realism.
Recent awards include Honorable Mention for Oil Painting at the Western Australian Society of Arts 2026 Annual Exhibition and Third for Animals in the Pastel Society of Australia 2026 Annual Online Exhibition.
